Flute:
The model 3SHB offers the resonance and tone quality of a solid silver headjoint combined with the French key mechanism (open hole keys) often requested on an intermediate student instrument. The 3SHB offers specifications many teachers recommend for a step-up student flute.

With open tone holes, a silver headjoint and a B footjoint, the model 3SHB flute is one of the most desired step-up flutes offered today. The B footjoint provides a longer tube allowing a greater resonance in the flute, as well as providing advancing flutists opportunities to utilize alternate fingerings for greater facility in the upper register

Piccolo:
The 4PMH offers a silver plated headjoint on a composite body to provide a player with the comfort and ease of a silver plated lip plate combined with the acoustical properties and durability of a composite body. The conical bore design provides solid intonation and a pleasing tone quality

When durability and outdoor performance situations are a concern, Gemeinhardt plastic piccolos are particularly appropriate. High-impact plastic piccolos perform well in humidity and extreme temperatures, and require a minimum of care and maintenance.

New improvements include:
Lead-free solder, 1 piece rib construction, headed screws, stainless steel springs, improved J1 headjoint and an updated ergonomic key design.

The Gemeinhardt story begins with Kurt Gemeinhardt, a fourth generation flute maker. He was born in Markneukirchen, Germany, a region with two centuries of instrument making tradition, and served an apprenticeship under his father. Upon completion of his apprenticeship, Kurt left Germany to work his trade in St. Gallen, Switzerland, where he crafted handmade flutes for the world's most prestigious musicians.
